Dry eye can be triggered by many different factors.

In our modern environment, working on the computer screen or digital devices for long hours at work or at home is an important cause for dry eye.

Being in a dry environment - especially under air conditioning - can also lead to dry eye.

Others factors include:

Prolonged contact lens wear

Medications – such as allergy medications, birth-control pills, blood pressure drugs etc.

Some medical conditions – hormonal fluctuations, tear gland blockage, Vitamin A deficiency etc.

LASIK eye surgery

Aging
